What is Heartbreak?

Our hearts get poked from time to time.
“Ouch, you poked my heart!”

Sometimes, our hearts break,
and a broken heart can make us feel angry and sad.
It’s okay to feel angry, and it’s okay to feel sad.
We can feel these feelings without getting lost inside them.

Put your hand over your heart
and hold it gently,
the way you hold someone’s hand when they’re scared.

We can feel our anger and our sadness,
and then let them go.
We let the feelings go,
but we keep the lessons.

When our hearts break, they break open.
When our hearts break open, they can let in more love.

It’s okay for your heart to break. You can handle it.

Eyes-Wide-Open Faith

Fear is a teacher.

When fear brings us to a point where we see how we do not love ourselves, we have received its teaching.

The belief that fear, anger, and stress can hurt me causes my suffering.

Underneath my anger is sadness. Underneath my sadness is fear.

I can feel the sadness and hold myself gently. I let go of fear’s hand.

I do not need to know anything. I have faith.

Not blind faith

Judgment

Thank you for being my mirror.

I judged you. I tried to make you wrong so that I could be right

My ego needs to be right because it does not know faith

It cannot know faith because its job is to keep me separate

This created distance

Distance between you and me on the outside

Distance between me and God on the inside

Judgments keep me out of my own heart

My home

The judgments that I have are not about you

They are my issues

My projections

I recognize this and take responsibility for them

This is a gift. You are a gift.

You have shown me what I am still unwilling to love

Connection or separation?

Love or Fear?

Through your reflection, I see a choice.

Thank you for being my mirror.
